this-is-how-we-cosplay asked: I love your Lady Scorpion cosplay! What made you choose that character, and how did you come up with the concept? It looks great!
^__^ thank you!! I chose the character because Scorpion is my best fighter in Mortal Kombat, and I’m freakishly obsessed with the games. I really wanted to do a Mortal Kombat cosplay, but the costume designs for the women are very body conscious.. and I honestly didn’t feel comfortable enough to wear any of them. I also love costume design and wanted to try something unique but still true to the original character. I know my own body and what looks good and what doesn’t, so keeping that in mind I designed it to how I would feel comfortable but still confident and sexy. It was also very important to me to keep the integrity of the original character and design. With all of my Mortal Kombat redesigns (over here) I tried to keep as many key elements as possible, for instance Scorpion’s cowl and mask is a signature look that i’ve seen many gender swaps forgo. (ok, well most people have the face mask, but I have yet to see any female versions actually wear a cowl or balaclava) I made it with a feminine twist by adding the high ponytail. Thanks for this question, and i’m glad you’ve enjoyed my design and cosplay! <3

Prepare thy selves! I made a VIDEO!!!!!!! Yes. I herp a hard derp, but I really wanted to try something a little different and kind of give you an inside look of what I do at conventions! This is the first video i’ve ever recorded of myself with cosplay, so please be kind i’m no expert videographer. Let me know if you guys like this idea, I can record more at other conventions I go to in the future. Let’s just see how this one goes. ^__^ enjoy my derps! <3 (I might have swore a few times…so..whatever don’t fuckin judge me BWAHAHHA)

So remember that Scorpion cowl I sculpted a while back but didn’t get to finish before NYCC? well I FINISHED IT!!! Just pulled and trimmed my second casting of it tonight and it came out better than I could have imagined! (The picture was of the first cast, and it had a lot of airbubbles…but I was too excited so I took a pic) :P
The face mask is the next part. The mold is almost finished on that sculpt so by the end of the weekend I should have a brand new face mask as well! SO EXCITED
